Rafael RG | Brazil

A visual artist, he completed a degree in Visual Arts from Faculdade de Belas Artes de São Paulo in 2010. He works with video, installation and performance. In his works, he proposes the re-reading, explorations, and the transposition of historical facts to the art field by combining documents and fictional objects he creates, based on research into public archives, such as the Public Archive of the State of São Paulo and Berlin’s Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek. He nurtures an interest in the narrative possibilities still open in the face of the tacit historical meaning of information and fact. His works have been exhibited at Paço das Artes, São Paulo (2013); Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Poland (2013); Brazilian British Centre, São Paulo, Brazil (2013); El Parche artist residency, Bogotá, Colombia (2012); Hebbel am Ufer 2, Berlin, Germany (2012); Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne, Australia (2011); 61st Salão de Abril, Fortaleza, Brazil (2010); Latin America Memorial, São Paulo, Brazil (2009); and other venues.
